My Part and God's Part

Throughout the bible it say" Obey the commands of the Lord."  Also in Proverbs 3:5 talks about trust,"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." I still struggle with understanding what is "my part" and what is "God's part." When do I trust? When do I obey?

Here are two mindsets I get in:
1)Alex, you need to have self-control and be self-discipline it is a virtue. God commands so much from you, especially to obey.Work really hard not to fail or mess up, obey obey obey. But when I fail, I feel guilty like I am not being the servant I need to be for his kingdom.

2) Alex, how much do you really need to do, God WILL will be done with or without your efforts. You just need to have faith and trust trust trust. Work really hard to give everything to God and let him motivate you. But when I fail, I feel guilty like I am not being the servant I need to be for his kingdom.

This past week God has taught me that faith is both obeying and trusting. Giving 100% of myself by obeying and trusting God's unfailing 100%. When I rely on my own strength without trusting God, I am not giving my 100% and also when I rely solely on God without obeying any of his commands, I am not giving my 100% either.

The balance is knowing my part and God's. Example: My part would be praying for my safety on an airplane but firmly knowing that God's part is keeping me safe; or my part is keeping my body/temple healthy and God's part is protecting it; or My part is working on my issues in a relationship and trusting God's part to work on the heart other the person.

Just like with any relationship both people need to give 100% but with our relationship with God we know which one is not giving their 100%.

On the road of life I need to constantly be in-tuned with "My Part" and "God's Part."
