Matthew 22:39 prepares us for Proverbs 27:17, Now,"As iron sharpens iron,so one man sharpens another." If we don't continue to live by Matthew 22:39, which is one of God greatest commandment, it will greatly effect how we interpret/live out Proverbs 27:17. Humility sharpen iron and teaches us how to love.
Comparing my selfishness with humility:
1)My selfishness becomes obsessed with their faults/My humility is silent and loves them anyway.
2) My selfishness wants to give my opinion to my friends/My humility produces
words that encourage and inspire.
3) My selfishness wants to make my husband holy/My humility knows I need to make him feel whole.
4) My selfishness wants to prove my acceptance/ My humility just shows it.
5) My selfishness gives when it is easy/ My humility gives when it is hard
6)My selfishness wants to call them out/ My humility teaches me courage
7) My selfishness wants to change them/My humility tries not to change them.
8) My selfishness wants to vocalize my effort/My humility knows that God sees it.
9) My selfishness say's I have a responsibility for that person/ My humility say's I have a
responsibility to that person.
10) My selfishness wants to look to the past/My humility hopes
11) My selfishness wants to compare/My humility teaches to be content.
12) My selfishness wants to say I am right/ My humility say's God's is right
13) My selfishness wants to questions their actions/My humility trust God's will for them
