Most every wedding that I have been too (including recently) has used the cliche verse from the bible about, Love is patient, Love is kind. Even in the Wedding Crashers, they make bets on this verse. Although, it is tradition and yet taken out of context, people at weddings still learn from it.....I think.
Sidenote:
But, but I did hear a good piece of advice that the Father said in the last wedding I went to. He said to the newlyweds, " Your greatest goal as a married couple is getting your spouse to heaven." (Think about it.)
OK now for the real REAL wedding advice:
I got to the last part of chapter 3 in one of the books that I am reading and came across this verse
1 Corinthians 4:2, Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful . A Trust! It made me think about one of the greatest things that God has entrusted me too, Mark's heart. My husbands heart had been entrusted to me and I must prove faithful.Of course I promised faithfulness in my vows but also to think it is God's standard. Whew buddy! Then I thought, I have a wonderful man to care for my heart. Then I thought about the verse Ephesians 4:9 Two are better than one, for they help each other succeed. Then I thought back to the sidenote, my goal is to get Mark to heaven and he me. Wow! There are now two people caring for my heart all-the-while, helping me get to heaven, faithfully!
Thank you for sharing this. There are many good lessons here :)
