Nakedness in Marriage (Genesis 2:25)

Taken from chapter 6, Marriage on the Rock by Jimmy Evans

"In the beginning of time, God intended marriage to be a place of total "nakedness"- physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually." (Quoted from Marriage on the Rock) Adam and Eve got to experience God's perfect plan for marriage, they shared a world of total intimacy and openness. Even though we have fallen as humans we are still blessed and called to have total "nakedness" with God and our marriage partner.

Genesis 2:25 says, "The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame." God designed this nakedness to be explored in every area of your marriage lives: body, soul and spirit.

I think that I always appreciated "nakedness" but now married I do way more.Nakedness is so special, I now officially know why God only wants us to marry once and experience "nakedness" only with our husband/wife. Marriage is, "The singular place God has created for us to fulfill our need for total nakedness."

God is so great! Being naked is hard but excellent illustration of his Glory over marriage!
