Supernatural Act 1) Denying Yourself
Jesus said in Mark 8:34-35,“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it." Jesus was telling them deny yourself is to leave your past, deny your sinful natural and live a new life with me, a life you deserve. This command from Jesus is said to us today, He wants you to be the person he created you to be. In reality it may sound peachy and easy (to deny yourself) but it is a daily decision that takes strength. Denying yourself is a Supernatural Act. This is the act that all other supernatural Acts stem from, the start of faith.
Supernatural Act 2) Being Pure at Heart
James 4:8, "Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts..." If we want to be closer to God we must purify our hearts. What lives in our hearts?
1 Corinthians 6:19, Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own." God's spirit is in inside of us because we have deny ourselves. Being pure at heart is an act of protecting your mind, body and spirit. When we protect that heart God will bless us. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." (Matthew 5:8) Being pure at heart is a Supernatural Act.
Supernatural Act 3) Submitting to Each other
Ephesians 5:21, "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." I learned several months ago [and in a past blog] that the word submit in essence means, "to be humiliated" or "humbling yourself." Humbling ourselves to God, each other, our leaders and your spouses is respect. Being humble is making God bigger and us smaller.Submitting is required and Humility is required. Micah 6:8, "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." We gain humility through denying ourselves. Submitting is a Supernatural Act.
Supernatural Act 4) Love
Mark 12:30-31, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no commandment greater than these.” We are created to love and be loved. Love is not a right, but a blessing, a gift. Love is not the reliability of a feeling but the faithfulness of actions. God is love[1 john 4:8], God is good, and love is good. Love is a Supernatural Act.
Supernatural Act 5) Having Goldy Relationships
A godly relationship with our neighbor is something that is a need of our as humans. These relationships are also direct connections to God because the spirit live inside of them too. Here are 6 truths the bible says about this kind of relationship. 1. Confess your sins to one another and pray from them that they may be healed.(James 5:160 2. If your neighbor is suffering comfort them and if they are cheerful share in their joy. (James 5:13) 3.If your friends wonder from God, remind them of His truth. (James 5:19-20) 4. Speak truth to your neighbor because we all belong to each other.( Ephesians 4:25) 5.Be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving. (Ephesians 4:32) 6. Let your words be edifying and impart Grace to the hearer. (Ephesians 4:29) Godly relationships are Supernatural Acts.
You were made to be supernatural.
