That's a gift?

Nelson's bible dictionary says, "A gift is bestowing favor on or is giving to another person without expecting a return. The purpose of gifts may be to bring honor (Sam. 8:2; Dan. 2:48), Celebrate (Rev. 9:22), or simply bestow favor or help (Esth. 9:22)."

How many times do I give and call it a gift?

Many gifts that God gives us are: Salvation, Jesus, spiritual gifts, Holy Spirit, Eternal life, our necessities, Life and everything else that is good. Our gifts are blessings. Sometimes we take our gifts for granted and think we are entitled to everything, "it is our right!"

How many times do I see gifts as rights?

My husband's, lovingness, quietness and willingness is not a right of mine as a wife, but a gift. A blessing from heaven. My best friend's, listening heart, acceptance of me, and counsel is not a right of mine as a friend, but a gift. A blessing from heaven.

God's blesses us with gifts as proof of his favor and we are given the opportunity through Jesus, to bless others through gifts.
