Everybody has a Name
What is your name?
What is your brothers name?
Who treated people like Jacob and Simon for not what they were but what they could be, ought to be? Jesus. He is our greatest teacher and the one we strive to be more like. Jesus saw Jacob not as the deceiver he was, but as Israel, the father of a great nation. Simon, known as the "greatest sinner of all," God gave him the new name, Paul. Jesus saw him not what he was but the great counselor Paul, he would and came to be.
We all have a name. Mine is, Alexandria, aka "pride filled sinner." Because of Jesus I have been given a new name, Beloved Daughter. God doesn't see me for what I was or what I am but as what I will do and have done for his kingdom. I am his Beloved Daughter.
How would my interactions with people be different if I saw them not as they are but what they could be?
Not by what they have done but what great they will do? Seeing them just as Jesus does. Seeing them not as sinners but with the new name....
Beloved
